Hello, I’m Alice. I’m in my late 20’s and in March 2016 entered the world of trying to conceive baby number one with my wonderful husband Sam. We moved from the UK to the USA at the beginning of 2016. Although we are very early on in the baby making business compared to many people out there, things have not gone as smoothly as planned. Everyday feels like a learning experience whether its figuring out the US health insurance, learning all these new medical terms, or stepping into the previously unknown world of infertility.
I’ve been diagnosed with high Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Whilst researching online about these issues I’ve found little about the experiences of women with high AMH. When I did manage to find anything on fertility forums it was so useful to hear about what other women were going through, it made me feel less alone. However, one frustration is that I never got to find out the endings of the majority of the fertility stories after their initial post was made. What treatment did they get? How often did they have this treatment? What were their experiences? Did they manage to conceive? Was the pregnancy successful? Are they still trying?
I’ve created this blog to share our story, the whole story, the good, the bad and the ugly.
